Garwood’s Second Grade Happenings

for March

·     Students are being encouraged to read ten hours at home to earn a day pass at Silverwood through the Reading Is the Ticket program.

·     Themes covered in March include weather and the water cycle, map skills centered around Ireland, and energy.

·     Writing skills will practice the use of adjectives and adverbs in descriptive paragraphs and narrative 100 to 250 word stories. 

·     Major math concepts are counting change with quarters, telling time to the five minute intervals, and 2-digit subtraction with and without regrouping.
