Welcome to Mrs. Sanborn's Classroom

Dear Parents:

            I am delighted to have your child in my class this year!

            I have developed a Classroom Discipline Plan which affords every student guidance in making good decisions about his or her behavior and thus an opportunity to learn in a positive, nurturing classroom environment.  Your child deserves the most positive educational climate possible for his or her growth and I know that together we will make a difference in this process.  The plan below outlines our classroom rules, positive recognition and consequences for appropriate and inappropriate behavior.

Classroom Guidelines:

1. We are always respectful to one another.
2. We are responsible students.
3. We follow directions the first time.
4. We raise our hand and wait to be recognized.
5. We always ask permission to leave the room.

To encourage students to follow our rules, I will recognize appropriate behavior with:

1. Praise
2. Reward tickets
3. Points
4. Self Manager

However, if a student chooses to break a rule, the following steps will be taken:

First time a student breaks a rule: Warning .

Second time: Miss 10 minutes of recess.

Third time:  Miss entire recess.

Fourth time: Call/Contact Home.

Fifth time: Student conference with principal.

Severe Clause:  If there is severe behavior, the student will be sent directly to the principal.
