This course introduces students to fundamental materials and techniques. Projects focus on the exploration of 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional media, figurative work, understanding creativity, and an appreciation for Art History. Primary objectives of this class include helping students gain confidence in creative expression; develop necessary organizational and time management skills; enhance written, verbal and artistic communication, and prepare for further course study in the arts. Students should take both semesters of Art 1 to successfully prepare for additional art courses.
