This is a hands-on course encompassing the three basic pottery techniques – pinch, slab and coil. Emphasis on vocabulary, art history, building techniques, surface decoration and responsible use of class time to manage multiple projects. Advanced Pottery is designed as a continuation of Beginning Pottery and provides students to expand on earlier experience in clay. Projects are more advanced, combining multiple building and surface decoration techniques. Other claymaking processes, such as casting, wheel work and sculpture may be explored.
