Canada Unit
Goal: Students will study the
major historical events, geography, economics, government and culture of
Canada.
During this unit you will:

Identify the explorers and describe
their major achievements.

Describe the importance of the French
and Indian War to the area.

Recognize Canada's multicultural influences,
diversity of population and its effect on Canada.

Name and locate on a map: provinces,
territories, capitals, major cities, major geographic features, bordering
countries and bodies of water.

Identify Canada's climates and compare
them to the U.S.
-
Compare and contrast U.S. government
with Canadian government.
-
Identify the natural resources, products,
industries and how they are impacted by economic, social, and political
problems.

Evaluate and analyze U.S. - Canadian
relations.

Discuss current events dealing with
Canada.
*Some of these challenges will
be done in class as a whole group using your history book.
*Many will be done, however, as
different group projects.
*Your group's final product will
be presented to the class using the method listed in the process guidelines
for each activity.
